Next Dimension Gymnastics – Level 6 Team State Champions

On the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd, teams from all around the state traveled to the Wheeler Rec. Center on the campus of the University of Bridgeport to compete in the 2007 Level 5 & 6 Connecticut State Gymnastics Championships. Next Dimension Gymnastics of Trumbull, qualified 18 gymnasts to the event and everyone had high expectations going into the competition.

The level 5 gymnasts competed throughout Saturday and performed their best. The highest scorer for the Next Dimension Level 5 team was Carly Kalafus with a 36.725 which was good enough for 2nd place all around in the 11 year old age group. Carly also won the state vault title with a 9.15. Gymnasts who also performed well in their respected age groups: Victoria Gallati placed 3rd on Beam with a 9.15, Jamie Capece placed 4th on Beam with an 8.925, Anna Bivona placed 4th on floor with an 8.7, Amanda Daniel scored an 8.8 on Bars, Kaily Gruttadauria had an 8.5 on Vault and Carly Gerson had an 8.2 on Beam.  

On Sunday all the level 6 gymnasts were looking for a chance to show off their skills. With some very strong competitors from around the state, our level 6 gymnasts had to hit their routines to make it to the top and Next Dimension didn’t disappoint! Next Dimension gymnasts were all over the top of the podium and at the end of the day, the Next Dimension Gymnastics team won their first ever Level 6 State Title! Jessica Konkol led the way by winning the 12 year old all around title with a 36.6, winning the title on Beam with a 9.05 and placing 2nd on floor with a 9.35. Caitlin Longwell placed 4th all around in the 12 year old age group with a 36.1, was state champion on floor with an impressive 9.45 and 2nd on vault with a 9.35. Kasey Moraveck was 6th all around in this age group with a 35.6 and high scores of 9.2 on floor and a 9.05 on bars. In the 11 year old age group, Linda McAuley placed 3rd all around with a 35.8 and was 3rd on beam with a 9.0. Yarden Tepper was 4th all around with a 35.675, 2nd on beam with a 9.0 and 3rd on floor with a 9.45. Taylor Begley was 5th on vault with a 9.175 and Julianne DeBellis scored an 8.9 on vault. In the 13 and up age group, Heather Mohamed placed 2nd on beam with an 8.6 and Elizabeth Seperack placed 4th on Bars with an 8.8. In the 10 year old age group Kristen Galuardi scored an 8.9 on Vault and in the 7-9 age group, Ali Moraveck placed 4th on Beam with an 8.6.
